Another short post today…just letting everyone know about some very interesting developments regarding Atheism in the UK. Last month the first ‘Atheist Church’ started in London. You can read all about it in this BBC News article.
The well known atheist Alain De Botton has also just released “A Manifesto For Atheists” detailing 10 virtues or commandments for life. Check it out at this Huffington Post link and see what you think.

Isn’t the Unitarian Universalist church basically an atheist church? I’m guessing those don’t exist in London, though, if there was a need for something like this. Interesting.
Blessings,
Victoria
I think Unitarian Universalism is open to a belief in the supernatural but tends to favour the rational.
Hey, thanks for the clarification! That does make sense.
There are Unitarians in the UK, but they are pretty Christian-based, with a fair bit of emphasis on the unity of God and creation, so I can’t imagine many atheists going for it.
De Botton generally irritates me, he often comes across as pretty patronising and judgemental, but his 10 guidelines are something I can get behind.
I wouldn’t have found the Goddess if not for the UU church! http://goddesspriestess.com/2012/11/14/how-the-uu-church-introduced-me-to-the-goddess/ and http://goddesspriestess.com/2012/12/02/essence-of-paganism/
I don’t like it. Too much money to keep it up.
